Coach Kelsey Ameiss
I had played softball my entire life and was lucky enough to get to play at Grand Valley State University. The many years of throwing a ball caused chronic pain in my shoulder that required rehab to help lessen the pain, but nothing seemed to help. I had a teammate who told me about CFA and Crossfit which helped her with an arm injury she had, so I decided to join her. Ever since I walked through CFA’s door, I have been hooked! My shoulder pain has lessened and been easier to manage, as well as I have never felt stronger because of Crossfit. Now that I am retired from softball, Crossfit has given me that competition and community that I miss.
I graduated from Grand Valley with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and am a ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. I moved around a bit after I graduated from GVSU, but since moving back, I was able to become a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer and coach at CFA thanks to Josh and Kate. I am grateful to have such a fun job and get to pass on my love for Crossfit and fitness to others.
