What do you do when you’re not at CFA?
I LOVE going to concerts (especially if its Zach Bryan), hanging out with my friends and family, traveling, coaching track and field, and hanging out with doggos that aren’t mine (Chris Steele please let me bring a dog home!!)
What do you do for a living?
I’m a jack of all trades… Im a nanny for a family in Allendale, I coach strength and conditioning for the girls sports teams at the high school, I coach CrossFit, and I’m also a dog sitter.
How has your fitness changed since joining?
My fitness has changed immensely since joining CFA. I’ve always been an active person, but since joining I’ve gotten so much stronger and I’m able to do a lot of things that I never thought I could. Ex. Run a mile without walking, do strict pull-ups, do 150 wallballs.

When did you realize that CrossFit was right for you?
I was 14 when I started CrossFit and while you don’t know much at 14 I knew that this place was gonna be “my thing” was during the workout when I didn’t feel like doing anymore burpees, but looking around and seeing everyone else suffering and knowing that I wasn’t in it alone.
We also went to go play kickball after the workout and since then I’ve been hooked.

What movement do you despise over everything and why?
Running. I got lil legs.
What has been your all-time favorite moment at CFA? So many fun moments!
There’s never a dull moment here! My favorite moment was when the whole gym rallied around my family when my mom was going through chemo and put on a Rowling event to raise money to help for treatments. I’m forever thankful for the support and love that this gym brings.

What motivates you during a tough workout?
Knowing that this is something that I get to do.
What’s something about you that most people at the gym don’t know?
I’m a 2x national champion powerlifter and I (think I still do) hold a state bench press record!
If you had to describe your CrossFit experience in one word, what would it be?
Empowering

If you could write your own workout for a day, what would it be?
I LOVE a heavy barbell, so it would probably look like this:
12 EMOM 1) 2 HEAVY squat snatches, 2) 12 V-UPS
What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit?
The hardest part is walking through the door. It can look intimidating, but once you start you realize that it’s not as bad as it seems. Everyone had a first day!
If you could have one skill or characteristic of another member at CFA what and from whom would it be?
Since starting so young I look up to so many people here, but the one that I look up to the most is my dad. Not only is my dad insanely strong, but his resilience and determination is what I admire the most. He doesn’t let a set back keep him down and he shows up to the gym even when he might not want to. I would also love to have his deadlift. Thanks for being the best role model a girl could ask for!
