What do you do when you’re not at CFA?  

Watching my kids play sports, volunteering at their school, reading (listening) to books, camping and vacationing with my husband and kids, attending our church.

What do you do for a living?

Hair stylist, don’t judge me when my hair is a mess in the morning…

How has your fitness changed since joining?

I have been consistently exercising for years, but CFA has shown me I can do more than I believed possible. Along the way, I’ve grown not only physically stronger, but mentally tougher. I’m learning discipline, resilience, and confidence that carry into every part of my life.

When did you realize that CrossFit was right for you?

I had been hearing about great CrossFit for years, but I was always hesitant to join because it didn’t feel like I would be able to keep up… I am competitive by nature. But I realized it’s not about being the best or fittest. It’s about being proud of the little or big accomplishments and finding joy in your own journey. Being at CFA feels like more than just a workout, it’s a true community where everyone shows up for each other. The constant encouragement and shared effort push me to give my best every workout, knowing I’m supported while also being challenged to grow.

What movement do you despise over everything and why? 

Double unders… Will I ever get them?! 

What has been your all-time favorite moment at CFA? So many fun moments!

Probably when I climbed the rope for the first time…

What motivates you during a tough workout?

Knowing how good you feel afterwards!

What’s something about you that most people at the gym don’t know? 

I played the French Horn like a boss in High School… 

If you had to describe your CrossFit experience in one word, what would it be?

Motivating

If you could write your own workout for a day, what would it be? 

Running!, squats, pushups… I don’t know. I pay our great coaches to come up with good workouts. 😉 

What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit?

Don’t compare yourself to others.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

If you could have one skill or characteristic of another member at CFA what and from whom would it be? 

Mary’s double under’s!! 😉

Coaches’ Comment

A big congratulations to Jessica for being February’s Member of the Month! I think she had one of the easiest transitions into CrossFit and CFA that we’ve seen. Instantly, she was crushing workouts, bringing her friends to bootcamp, and steadily improving her fitness. She has been a perfect fit for our gym.

Outside the gym, she loves watching her kids play sports, volunteering at their school, reading (or listening to) books, camping and vacationing with her husband and kids, and attending her church. Inside the gym, you’ll find her crushing both bootcamp and CrossFit workouts, showing up with just one minute to spare, and letting her bright personality and friendliness shine through.

We’re so thankful for Jess at CFA and can’t wait to see where the next few years take her!
