Work, watching darts, cook, hang out with two cats (Boop, Nugget) and dog (Dim), fiance (Megan)
What led you to Crossfit and CFA specifically?
Jenn.
When did you realize that CrossFit is right for you?
Started sleeping better (CPAP helped), got more muscle, lost some weight.
Do you remember your first WOD?
No but I killed it and Jed Roelefs was there.
What movement do you despise over everything and why?
DB step-ups: hate them Wallballs: dumb Running: poopy Running with a med ball: literal hell
What has been your all-time favorite moment at CFA?
Too many to name. Open gym in the summer is the best time of the year. Rowing for Deb Steele. Friday Night Lights for the open. Hosting a UFC fight at the lounge and cracking my head on the foosball table. Anytime the entire CFA community is involved it’s usually fun.
What motivates you during a tough workout?
Complaining about the workout during the workout usually helps. Also getting to talk about the workout and other workouts we’ve done in the past after it’s over.
If you could write your own workout for a day, what would it be?
Bike sprints and then some combo of HSPU, 36” box jumps and squat cleans. Or riding 25K on the erg with Coach Kate or doing two miles of sled pulls.
What are your goals going forward and what do you think will help you achieve them?
Win. Work harder.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness or just day to day life since starting CrossFit (before/after?)
Body/health/fitness: More energy most of the time; definitely more cut Day-to-day life: Unprompted comments from friends and family along the lines of ‘oooh wow look at Steve he does *Crossfit*’.
What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit?
Grind for your first two weeks and you’ll never look back.
If you could have one skill or characteristic of another member at CFA what and from whom would it be? Or which other CFA member are you the most motivated by?
